If you are seriously considering letting a Bulldog own you my first advice to you is to get to know the breed by reading. There is a myriad of information out there with respect to these wonderful creatures.
Bulldogs are unlike any other breed you may have been exposed to and no matter how much dog experience you have...these guys are very unique. A Bulldog is not right for everyone. Some things that you need to consider are the health issues that may arise including skin trouble and allergies, breathing problems, eye problems and so on. Now, having said this, I have a wonderful mentor and I am confident in the health and longevity of the puppies that I have bred. But...in life there are no guarantees and it is always prudent to know as much as you can about something BEFORE you commit! If you want a dog to accompany you on your morning run or to play with a Frisbee...you may have to consider another breed. Bulldogs get overheated easily and this can be a fatal situation. If you don't mind snoring, belching and flatulence, then you may be barking up the right tree, so to speak. Bulldogs are not good watchdogs as they are not aggressive and rarely bark. I have provided a few links that will assist you in gathering some information about Bulldogs to help you make an informed decision.
